Planning your journey to Belgium is easy with this step-by-step guide:&nbsp; Wedding Location Overview&nbsp; Our wedding takes place in the beautiful Wallonia region of Belgium, south of Brussels:&nbsp; Church Ceremony: Sainte-Elisabeth de Mons. Mons is a historic city located 80 km (approx. 80 minutes by direct train) south of Brussels Airport (BRU).&nbsp; Reception &amp; Second Day Celebration: Château de Thoricourt, in the picturesque village of Thoricourt, 25 km (30 minutes by car) from Mons. &nbsp;We recommend staying in the Van der Valk Hotel Mons (details in the accommodation section). This hotel is centrally located, just a 5-minute walk from Mons train station. Car rental should not be necessary unless you plan to explore Belgium extensively.&nbsp; --- Arrival Recommendation&nbsp; We encourage guests to arrive in Mons on Friday, 22nd August, to allow time to settle in before the celebrations. Traveling on the morning of the wedding may feel rushed. ---&nbsp; Getting to Belgium &nbsp;The best option is Brussels Airport (BRU), Belgium's main international airport with more frequent flights, and excellent train connections, to Mons.&nbsp; Alternatively, you can fly into Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) depending on flight availability.&nbsp;&nbsp; Google Flights is useful to compare different flight options <a href="https://www.google.com/travel/flights" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.google.com/travel/flights</a>&nbsp; ---&nbsp; Transport to Mons&nbsp; From Brussels Airport (BRU):Take a direct Intercity (IC) train from BRUSSELS AIRPORT-ZAVENTEM to MONS (80 minutes approx). &nbsp;Advance booking recommended via the official Belgian train website <a href="https://www.belgiantrain.be/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.belgiantrain.be/en</a>&nbsp; Trains run every 30 minutes approximately.&nbsp; From Charleroi Airport (CRL): Public transport is available but may require transfers. &nbsp;The Van der Valk Hotel Mons is a short 5-minute walk from the Mons train station.&nbsp; --- &nbsp;Wedding Transport&nbsp; We’ve planned the events to minimise travel hassle:&nbsp; Wedding Day:&nbsp; Transport will be provided from the Van der Valk Hotel Monsto the Church in Mons.&nbsp; After the ceremony, transport will take you from the Church to Thoricourt Château for the reception.&nbsp; Evening return transport to the Van der Valk Hotel Mons willalso be arranged.&nbsp; Second Day Celebration:&nbsp; Return transport from the Van der Valk Hotel Mons to Thoricourt Château for the second-day celebrations.&nbsp; --- &nbsp;Extend Your Stay&nbsp; Belgium is full of attractions! We are recommending our guests to stay in The Van der Valk Hotel Mons. Most of the provided transport will run to and from this hotel. Of course guests can choose to stay elsewhere. For those planning on driving to and from the celebrations themselves it may suit to stay closer to the venue in Thoricourt. In the event that someone needs to stay elsewhere, there are several other smaller hotels in Mons, within walking distance or short taxi ride of The Van der Valk Hotel Mons.
