Our Wedding

During the fall of 2024, Daisy and I were both searching for a church to call home. While Daisy finished up her master’s in chemistry, she was still looking for a church that had a good young adults ministry. And I was feeling pulled towards full time ministry, but was also lacking community. I was trying to find a new church, and Daisy was about to commit to a different church that still didn’t feel like home, when our now good friends Michael and Sarai Smith started the young adults ministry at The Well. We both fell in love with the ministry and the community we had found before we even met each other. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But one Tuesday night, a seemingly typical night for Devo, I saw Daisy for the first time. Devo had barely gotten started, and Daisy was already serving at the coffee shop at our church! I vividly remember that the first time I saw Daisy was the first time I ever looked to see if a girl was wearing a ring. So, despite my hesitancy to drink coffee at night, I kept coming back to the coffee shop every Tuesday just to get a few minutes to talk to Daisy. When I heard that she liked sports and was a part of FCA, I “randomly” got into pickleball and tried to set up times when all of Devo could play pickleball. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With the help of our friend Sarai playing matchmaker at Devo, we realized that we both were interested in each other. After many weeks of working up the courage, I finally asked out Daisy to coffee. That coffee date lasted hours where we talked about our relationships with Jesus, His role and importance in our lives, the trajectory we see/want our lives to go, and so many more things! We did the typical dates, lunch, dinner, coffee, movie, but it only took the first time talking to her that I knew I couldn’t get enough of spending time with Daisy.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;About four months later we were looking at rings! When the time came I made sure that I had Daisy’s friends lying to her for weeks about when the proposal would be. So, on a day when Daisy had the mindset of “you can’t fool me, I know it’s not today”, we went to dinner nearby our church. Afterwards we “randomly” decided to go watch the sunset on our church’s balcony, where Daisy’s jaw dropped when she realized what was happening. After I struggled to get the words out during the proposal, she said yes! We’re so excited to finally say “I do” and to celebrate with our friends and family!
