Our Love Story

It all began in Pullman, WA, at Washington State University, where mutual Coug friends brought us together. On May 16, 2020, after a long double shift, Angel went the extra mile—cleaning his entire apartment and preparing a carne asada feast—just to invite Daizy over. That night, as we talked and got to know each other, we both felt something special.

Our first official date took us on an adventure to Palouse Falls, where we tackled a strenuous hike. It was the first real test—could Angel handle Daizy when she was dehydrated? If you know Daizy, you know exactly what that means! Despite the crankiness, Angel saw past the moment and, at the end of the hike, asked Daizy to be his girlfriend. That day, we became Facebook official, marking the start of a journey filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Dating during a pandemic came with its own challenges, especially when we had to quarantine for a month with Daizy’s family after only a few months of dating. But COVID-19 only strengthened our bond. During that time, we also raised our beloved Coug pup, Canelo, who quickly became part of our little family.

Through the years, we’ve been lucky enough to explore Mexico and Washington State, attend countless concerts and EDM festivals, and experience both the highs and unexpected twists of traveling—like the time Angel forgot all his luggage in Durango, Mexico, before heading to Mazatlán! Every adventure, big or small, has brought us closer together.

On August 18, 2024, at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, Angel got down on one knee and asked Daizy to spend forever with him. Now, nearly five years later, we are overjoyed to be taking this next step as husband and wife.

As WSU alumni, we’ve accomplished some of our first big goals—Angel as a Mental Health Counselor and Daizy as a Nurse. But our greatest adventure is just beginning. We are beyond grateful for the love and support from our friends and family and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you in Mexico as we say “I do!”
