Our Story

How our forever began

Most wonder how a boy from Rogers Texas met a girl from a small town in Oklahoma. The answer to that question is an online dating site through Facebook. This whole situation transpired on April 20, 2022, lol. We talked and got to know each other through texting, facetime, and Snapchat. Months passed by then Dallin pops the question. No, not that question. He asked if I would fly down to Texas to meet him in person for his birthday. That was a really scary thought, though I knew I immediately had to introduce this idea to my parents. If you know anything about my dad, you know that this took a lot of convincing. My mom on the other hand, wasn’t as hard to convince, but she did her own research on Dallin for sure. At this point on Dallin's side he also had to introduce the idea of me to his family. They were all pretty skeptical of this idea of a strange girl flying to meet their son. They joked around with the idea of me catfishing him. As you can imagine we were both extremely nervous for this first interaction in person. I can only speak for myself, but I knew the second I laid eyes on Dallin I knew he was gonna be something special. We spent his birthday weekend hanging out getting to know each other a little more. He also took this opportunity to introduce me to everyone he has ever known, lol! Some of our favorite memories together were made that weekend. I fly back home a few short days later and we continue to talk. I had somehow convinced him to get on a plane for the first time ever to come meet my family in Oklahoma. This happened July 22, 2022. He was only here for the weekend, but it was just enough time for us to know exactly how we felt felt for each other. I dropped him back off at the airport July 24, 2022 with full intentions of telling him how I really felt and drop the L word. I was just scared to say it in person thinking that it wasn’t going to be reciprocated. I look back now, and that that was a stupid feeling. As soon as I got back in the car and wiped away tears that I held back in front of him, I texted him and told him that I loved him. Seven long minutes later I got a response from Dallin that said I love you too. Fast-forward a few days, one of Dallin’s friends asked him about me and our “ label”. We hadn’t necessarily given our relationship a label, but as soon as said friend left Dallin facetimed me and told me that I was his girlfriend. That was technically July 28, 2022 but neither of us liked that date, so we say our date is July 25, 2022. From that moment on, we continued our relationship through long-distance. I did most of the flying to Texas as I was doing virtual college classes. The longest lasted about a year then I graduated from college in May 2023 and on June 9. My mom and dad packed up my car and moved me to Temple Texas. Dallin and I had been living together for 4 months before we got engaged. Dallin, with the help of the best future mother-in-law, carved out pumpkins to ask the big question in our backyard. Of course we all know the answer. From that moment on we are where we are today! Dallin and I just purchased our first house together neighboring his parents land in which Dallin grew up on. We are so incredibly blessed to have the life we’ve been given, and can only thank God for his plan for us. Our future is one we can’t wait to live out together all old and gray.
