Our Wedding

Our Story is one that is not the today’s “norm” of online dating, meeting at a bar or through mutual friends. Ours is a story of chance, one chance encounter through Carol’s work which led to conversations and then laughter and of course that good old fashioned chemistry. One very well made dinner (by Dan) started the passion that they both share, Dan cooks, while Carol stares, laughs and sometimes helps. Followed by a rooftop smores bar and spiked cider night, while it was super cold, the warmth they shared both decked out in their November Flannels was enough to keep those conversations, date nights and most of all laughter going. One massive snow storm later, brought the girls (Lily, Zoe and Maddie) into the picture when Carol had to make the trek to DC after a blizzard knocked out the power and they ran out of firewood. Carol and the girls stayed at her work for a few days and helped walk Loki for a Mr./Officer Dan while he was at work during the day. They thought his loft apartment was the coolest and Loki was the “licking-est” dog ever. Dan or now Babbo took them for a drive around DC in his patrol car and the girls were hooked. Dan and Carol soon explored their next passion with travel on their first trip to Nashville where Dan got to meet Carol’s mom Debbie and Bill, Carol’s Stepdad. The trip was so much fun, filled with story swapping, music and of course a few drinks and tons of laughing. That Dan sure knows his way around an airport too! The travel bug couple spent many long weekends at various beach locations, mountain retreats and who could forget the trip to Aruba! They had sun-soaked fun days and magical nights eating amazing food, enjoying sunset sails and lets not forget the dinner video at Passions-trust us you have to experience one for yourself! The couple took their travel bug international on a Mystery Trip that Dan planned but would only share the weather forecast… Carol managed to pack only one large bag and Dan whisked them off in style with a stop in a Luxury Airport Lounge where he revealed their destination- Venice, Italy. The trip was more than they could have expected from the beauty of the country, to the food they ate and the wine, let’s not forget the wine! The highlight of the trip took place after another perfect canal side dinner when Dan suggested a moonlight Gondola ride. It was breathtaking and when Dan kneeled in the boat (not sure how he was able to do that without the boat flipping) Carol already knew that the answer was going to be a million times Yes! We are now excited to share our favorite destination with our family as we start our next new chapter starting on October 18, 2025 in Aruba.

There are plenty of taxis all over the island but if you would like to venture off on your own and experience all the island has to offer we recommend renting your own car. We have used this company before and they are awesome. they offer a shuttle to and from the airport to make your pickup and drop off process seamless. They also have a wide variety of options in terms of vehicles: Jeeps, standard sedans, vans, etc.

For those who wish to stay off property, we highly recommend staying in an Airbnb. This has become our personal favorite way to stay on the island. Whether you are staying as a couple or coming together with others, there are countless places to stay that can meet your needs across all price points.

De Palm tours is probably hands down our favorite activity company on the island. We have done countless activites through them to include but not limited to UTV tours, scuba and snorkeling, safari style island tours, submarine tours, and even their very own island where they built a waterpark. The fun to be had here is endless!

No matter what beach you go to you can be sure to find something to do. Whether its enjoy Aruba's natural beauty or stopping by one of the local tents to take part in any of the water sports, you can be sure to have plenty of fun. Two of our favorites are renting a jetski and a tube ride where you are pulled behind a speed boat. Be sure to hold on for both.

There are countless places to scratch that shopping itch when you are on the island. Whether its your local shop with specialty hand made crafts all the way up to your imported good like handbags, liquors, wines, cigars, or clothes.
