It all began at The Great Dane,
a first date that actually went… not insane.
Good food, good talk, no awkward plots—
and she sealed the deal with garlic knots.
Next came Grampa’s Pizza nights,
where too much cheese just felt so right.
Then Culver’s runs became routine—
frozen custard forseen.
Their rivalry soon took its shape—
Cribbage duels and Mario Kart escapes.
He swore he’d win, she said, “We’ll see,”
and somehow, she still held the lead.
Then came her dachshund—small but grand,
who runs the house with a mighty command.
One sniff, one stare, a thoughtful pause…
then tail wag approval—he’d passed the boss.
They cheered the Badgers through the fall,
jumped around, had a ball.
Then hit the road, the perfect pair—
L.A., New Orleans, Mexico, ’Bama air.
One sunny day, beneath blue skies,
he knelt with the Capitol in his eyes.
He asked the question, she said “Yes!”
Now here they are, side by side,
still teasing, laughing, full of pride.
From garlic knots to wedding plans—
it’s A & D, best friends till the end.
