In the summer of 2014, Alex headed to Chicago on a J-1 visa with 15 of his friends from Dublin where they rented a house on W. Addison St. As fate would have it, just a month later Dana made the move into an apartment directly across the street from them. During the first week in her new apartment, she began to notice her increasingly noisy neighbors and one night while Dana was slightly intoxicated, she decided to let her neighbors know that she didn't appreciate being kept up all night long.

After *politely* kicking in their door and hearing some unfamiliar accents, Dana soon discovered that this wasn't a frat house as she had first suspected. The next day, she returned to the house after 'misplacing' her phone the night before and quickly hit it off with the gang.

From that point on, Dana spent day in and day out hanging out with the lads at 905 W. Addison and Alex and Dana took a liking to each other and spent the remainder of Alex's time in the U.S. hanging out. When it was time for Alex to return to Dublin, they agreed to keep in touch and although he thought this was just a summer fling, Dana had other plans.

Alex had only been back in Ireland for a few weeks when Dana decided to invite herself over to Dublin for a visit. Unsure about this visit and their relationship, Alex let Dana know that he didn't think it was a good idea but she wasn't taking no for an answer and after a few fake tears, of course Dana got her way.

One visit to Dublin turned into another, which then turned into Dana professing her love for Alex ("Me too!" Ouch...). Deciding they couldn't be apart any longer, Alex moved to Chicago on a work Visa in April of 2015. After spending an amazing year in Chicago, Alex's Visa expired and they moved back to Dublin in 2016.

After another year of adventures and love in Dublin and beyond, Alex proposed to Dana at one of her favourite places in Dublin (the Howth Head Cliff Walk) on December 26th, 2017. Wasting no time, they were married in a small civil ceremony surrounded by their family on April 17, 2018.

After two years of postponements, we're ready to celebrate our marriage with all of our family and friends! We can't wait to party with you in Chicago on April 22, 2022!
