Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar 

Gramma Dot’s is located right on the water in the Sanibel Marina near the lighthouse, and is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. There is indoor and outdoors seating, but no matter where you’re seated the service is always excellent and friendly, and the food delicious. The lunch menu offers fresh local seafood sandwiches, salads, awesome French fries, and Gramma Dot’s Famous Homemade New England Clam Chowder which you can also have with dinner. Our favorite is the grouper and the coconut shrimp with the homemade chips and ice tea! For dessert we especially like the smooth and creamy Captain’s Key Lime Pie -634 N Yachtsman Dr, Sanibel, FL 33957

There are two Doc Ford’s Rum Bar &amp; Grille in the area, one on Sanibel Island and one on Captiva Island. And since both of them have the same menu, you can simply choose the location that’s best for you. We do not discriminate! The seafood-focused menu at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar &amp; Grille offers so many mouthwatering options. Enjoy the Yucatan shrimp tacos, the Captiva crab cakes, or the macadamia nut crusted grouper. And if you want to add a little spice to your life, there’s a collection of house-made hot sauces that will perk up any dish. Before your trip to Doc Ford’s Rum Bar &amp; Grill comes to an end, you have to try one of their rum-based drinks. After all, this sugarcane-based liquor is in the restaurant’s name! The view, music, cold ones and great food all add up to what you will find located deep in the heart of Captiva. Its a lunch and dinner place and closes at 9:30 p.m. There are rules for dinner guests. You have to arrive at 4:15 p.m. to put your name on the list. Grouper is always a hit, especially the “French-Style” that is topped with seasoned butter and wine sauce. Other favorites include: grilled swordfish, peel &amp; eat shrimp, filet, English Fish &amp; Chips, and oysters. View are spectacular, servers have been there for years and the atmosphere is cozy and beach casual. Timbers Restaurant &amp; Fish Market opened on Tarpon Bay Rd with the Sanibel Grill in the same location. The Sanibel Grill was Sanibel Island’s first sports bar and&nbsp;was designed&nbsp;as a waiting area for Timbers.&nbsp;The Sanibel Grill soon became its own establishment with a casual menu featuring wings, pizza, shrimp, and more. Timbers is a little more upscale. The menu is&nbsp;heavily&nbsp;fresh fish. They&nbsp;are known&nbsp;for their huge oyster variety, sushi, and fish market. At Sanibel’s&nbsp;Over Easy Cafe, don’t call ahead for seating. Call ahead to reserve their cinnamon rolls. Over Easy's breakfast menu is extensive, covering all of the basics with a side of creativity. Over Easy serves breakfast all day. Lunch begins at 11 a.m.&nbsp;with a menu full of wraps and salads, along with a burger. But back to those cinnamon rolls, the ones that literally stop people in their eating tracks. Made daily, they are as big a child’s head, with a latticework of frosting that continues onto the plate. Dear Family and Friends,&nbsp; Dana has moved mountains and fought through hurricanes to plan this wedding so far and has given me the simplest of tasks which is to write “Our Story” for this website. No small task some may say but I promise to set the scene for this wedding that is the culmination of an 11+ year journey together.&nbsp; We first met at the ROMANTIC JCA Freshman Mixer. Was it love at first sight? I am not sure but I do remember thinking she was gorgeous, so I ignored her for 2 years because you know, I had to play the long game.&nbsp; Junior year we had homeroom together. Dana would steal my fruit almost every day that my mom would pack in my lunch (Thanks Mom). I assumed that meant she liked me. Taking the hint I asked her to Christmas dance that year by surprising with flowers as she worked as the hostess at Lone Star.&nbsp; The Summer of the following year I asked her out and we kissed for the first time. That kiss happed at our family farm at almost the exact spot I would be proposing to her 10 years later and just up the hill from the place we now call home.&nbsp; This first kiss led to a long journey through phases of love, friendship, distance and eventually back to love. Whether I was in Illinois, Missouri, or California, I could only think about loving one person and that was Dana. I slyly confessed that love to Dana at Nick and Sarah Lennon’s wedding. Maybe it was the infectious dancing that got to me or maybe it was one to many whiskey sours that made me do it, but that little confession definitely had an influence because Dana and I were together again just a few months later.&nbsp; You dont always get second chances in life so when God gave me a 7th I took it and soon I asked Dana to marry me. When I was a child I use to have this daydream about God sending this angel to me and I use to pray often for that angel. Sometimes I think that angel is Dana and it just took me some growing up to realize that.&nbsp; Now as we begin this chapter of marriage I hope we can write a story for the ages. Thank you all for being part of the early chapters that have made us who we are today. We hope you continue to be with us through all future chapters and all the twists and turns they bring.
