Wedding Day

During the start of our Welcome Party an event on East Montague Ave will be finishing up—the North Charleston Harvest Festival (4-7pm). Due to the event, East Montague Avenue will be closed from Jenkins Avenue to Virginia Avenue from 2:00-7:00pm, so we wanted to provide helpful insight for parking. Refer to this photo for guidance on both the welcome party and wedding.

Our Wedding

“How did you guys meet?” This familiar question often prompted the same reply: “We met online.” Although this is true, I think there was much more happening that led to us meeting each other. The Lord specifically directed Dana to move from Utah to Charleston for a travel nursing contract. Among the many reasons for this cross-country move, we now see that it was because God wanted us to be together! On our first date, we grabbed to-go coffee at Sightsee and then walked across the street to Hampton Park. We talked effortlessly as if we had known each other for years. My favorite part was sitting on a park bench with my arm around her as we chatted for what felt like hours! Not wanting to say goodbye, I asked if she was free later that day, and we made plans to walk at our favorite beach on Sullivan’s Island. We have talked almost every day since that first date, became best friends, and fell in love! Here are a few of my favorite highlights along the way:1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Friendsgiving in North Carolina2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Asking Dana to be my girlfriend3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fun dates all over Charleston4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Traveling together5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Exploring New York City over the holidays6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Meeting each other’s friends &amp; family7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Going to the Holy Spirit Conference8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Growing spiritually together9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Watching Liverpool win the English Premier League10. Simple evenings walking Gus and meal prepping But my absolute favorite memory so far has been asking Dana to marry me! I recreated our first date at Sightsee, Hampton Park, and Sullivan’s Island. I proposed to Dana at the park bench where we sat on our first date, and then led her to a surprise engagement party on the beach with our friends. It was truly such a perfect day! We look forward to an even more significant celebration in October, just one year after we first met. Our aim in our marriage is to honor God, who loves us and gave himself up for us. He is the reason we have life, forgiveness, and hope for a restored creation with Him. The Lord deserves all the credit for this amazing love story He is writing. It has been a gift for the two of us to fall in love here in Charleston, so we wanted to list out some of our favorite spots around the town. Below are plenty of coffee shops, half priced burritos, and experiences that will make you fall in love with this place just as we did!

Experience Our Dates Around Charleston!

This is where we FIRST met, and where Jordan proposed! As you may have read in Our Story, we had our first date at this cute coffee shop. Get yourself an espresso tonic (Dana's choice) or a latte (Jordan's choice), and take a walk around Hampton Park.

Sightsee Shop

Explore the canopy of live oak trees, quaint pathways, and beautiful flowers. This is a great spot to walk around, have a picnic, or even jump in for a game of pick-up basketball. We loved walking here on our first date, and we know you'll love it too!

Hampton Park

This coffee shop is tucked away right in the heart of Park Circle! We advise you to grab a drink to go, so that you can walk down Monague towards the epic playground in Park Circle. "During one of our first dates we made this walk. I wasn't convinced Dana liked me during this date, because she was acting so strange when I kept trying to hold her hand. "- says Jordan "Fun fact... I was SO NERVOUS!! " says Dana.

Orange Spot Coffee

If you're looking for a place to let your kids roam and play, this is your SPOT! Even adults can exercise and have fun there, so check it out!

Park Circle Playground

Whether it be early in the morning or late in the evening, we love to take Gus on a walk alongside our favorite beach here in Charleston. We have done sunrises, and sunsets here. It never ceases to surprise us.

Station 18 - Public Beach Access

Grab yourself $1 coffee before walking the beach, or hit up this place for a breakfast sandwich afterwards. "This was the first place I let Jordan scroll through my social media... I either couldn't stop laughing because I was so uncomfortable or because I realized how ridiculous I can be." - says Dana

The Co-Op Gourmet Sandwiches

A great place to watch the sunset, and see the city from across the Charleston Harbor. We took a hammock here once with a carton of blueberries and talked while watching the sunset.

Pitt Street Bridge

The best Asian flare restaurant. If you don't see Jordan here, you will see someone that works for Water Mission picking up some burritos to go hah!

Dashi

I hesitated placing this restaurant onto the list, but it is TOO GOOD not to. For those of you that are coming into Charleston a few days before the wedding I recommended splurging on the food here. They are only open for dinner, and do not accept reservations. Instead many people will wait outside the restaurant in line before the doors open at 5pm to get a table. "We came here at 4pm with a deck of cards while we waited in line for the doors to open at 5pm. Once the doors opened we were able to make a reservation with the hostess for a table at 7pm. So we went back home and changed clothes before heading back a few hours later. Make sure to get the "I Can't Believe It's Not Chicken" dessert!"
