Our Wedding

We first met in 2012 at a Kinesiology Conference in Ottawa. We were friends for many years before our relationship began. We built a friendship of trust, many laughs and reliability and one day Steve told Dana that he had feelings for her and wanted more. Dana was hesitant at first; but she finally let her guard down. It is a friendship that blossomed into love and a partnership and we both never looked back. Steve proposed at Peyto lake; where we had our first kiss. We were on a hike down to the lake to have lunch, Steve had prepared the perfect spot to propose and asked to eat lunch there but Dana wanted to walk around the lake more. Eventually we got to the spot where you could see the mountains perfectly and Steve got down on one knee and asked to marry him. We have been on many adventures together within Canada and internationally. We both love to hike the Rockies in Alberta and BC ; We try to go as much as possible on our weekends. When we visit Dana's family in Ontario we try to squeeze in a little adventure or at least a Jays Game when we can. We have traveled to Spain, Portugal, England, Jamaica, Hawaii and DISNEY together. And we hope to travel the world together. 2019 was a big year for us not only did we get engaged but we bought our first home together and brought home the most amazing fur baby Emmy who brings us so much joy. Although 2020 was not at all what we expected we are excited to celebrate our love with everyone officially in 2022. We can't wait to live happily ever after together although we can't decide where that will be ;)

Our Story

We will be providing shuttles to and from our reception venue to these hotels. These shuttles are for all guests and guests can feel free to take shuttles to either of these locations if they are closer to your home or where you have chosen to stay. I will post shuttle times closer to the date *Please let us know if you decide to stay elsewhere and we will see what we can do for transportation home*

Reception Transportation.

Room Category offered is a choice between our 2 queen beds and king bed. At check in each room will receive a welcome package which includes discounted vouchers to our owned/operated restaurants on and off site. (E.g., IHOP, TGIF’s, Out Back Steak House, Apple Bee’s, Keg Steak House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Niagara Fun Zone) Room rates are on a per night basis and are based on single and double occupancy. For triples and quads an additional charge of $15.00 per adult applies; children 18 and under stay for free. Parking available at additional cost. Cut off for these rates are August 8th 2022. Guests do not have to book all three nights.

Wineries & Breweries 

Niagara is privileged to have some of the best wineries in the world! I highly recommending making a day out of the beautiful historic town of Niagara on-the-lake and if you are willing to venture a little further to the Bench (Vineland/Jordan area) also has amazing wines. Hiking

If you want to get a bit of scenery in as well as some activity there are some hikes in the area that are not to challenging:-Balls falls-Upper Whirlpool Trail-Niagara Power Glen-Woodend Conservation Area-Bruce Trail (Queenston)

Niagara Falls

The town of Niagara falls and Clifton hills has a lot of touristy attractions that are overrated and over priced. Here is a small list of things we think are worth seeing and the rest can probably be avoided.-Botanical Gardens-The Floral Clock-The actual falls are beautiful-Horn blower (previously named Maid of the Mist)*Note that there is a 2% tourist tax in the city of Niagara Falls that you can ask to be taken off

Beaches

As early September is still very much summer in Ontario there are many beaches to check out with access to lakes! St. Catherine's (lake side beach) and Port Dalhousie is on Lake Ontario which has some nice spots. Crystal beach, and Long beach which are a bit further but is on Lake Erie.
