Dana and Jason don't quite know the exact moment they met. Dana has always been fairly close to the Linebarger family. Dana was good friends with Jason's youngest sister, Lisa, in high school. Dana also taught with Jason's sister, Brenda, at the same school. Dana even had Jason's mom, Cathy, as a teacher in high school. Needless to say, Dana and Jason crossed paths many times. Eventually, Jason asked Dana on a date. On April, 5, 2012 they went to dinner at Gruene River Grill then went out for drinks on the square in San Marcos. The rest is history!
In January 2015 Dana and Jason went on a skiing trip to Silverthorne, Colorado with some friends. Jason's initial plan was to propose on the top of Copper Mountain while they were skiing. Unfortunately, skiing didn't go as well as planned. They decided to skip the bunny hill and go straight for a green. Not a good idea. It had been over ten years since either of them had skied. Jason twisted his knee and Dana was freaking out over how steep the slope was. It took them about three hours to get down one run! The next day, their friends headed up to the slopes and Dana and Jason stayed behind. Jason suggested they go out on the back patio to look at the view. They took a few selfies and fed a friendly squirrel. Dana took one more look at the view and when she turned around, Jason was down on one knee. Dana was absolutely shocked and had no idea a proposal was coming. They spent the rest of the day shopping and eating in the town of Breckenridge.
