It was 2020, we were all dealing with Covid and living amidst the uncertainty. Dane was in Owensboro KY, Natalie’s hometown, on his graduate rotation for Dietetics. There wasn’t much to do during Covid, so his friend, fellow volleyball teammate, and best man, Josh asked if he wanted to play a pick-up game of volleyball with some of his local friends. Dane caught sight of a fun-loving, red headed, beauty who was about to head off to Louisville to complete her Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene and was smitten.

Fast forward several months where Dane kept seeing Natalie’s beautiful face at multiple volleyball tournaments. Dane, being the gentleman that he was, was quietly asking Josh if Natalie was single. Josh approached Natalie, and she said, “If he wants to know, he can ask me for himself”. That was all this competitive guy needed, a good challenge. Dane rose to the occasion and the story of Dane and Natalie began.

Theirs was a long-distance relationship with Dane working in a hospital in Illinois and Natalie studying in Kentucky. Slowly their love for each other grew stronger and their visits more frequent.

In the summer of 2022, they decided to move to Nashville together and brought home their beloved golden-doodle, Krew. After a little under two years of dating, Dane and Natalie took a trip to Italy. Dane planned a romantic boat ride on the Amalfi Coast where he proposed, and to his surprise Natalie said Yes.
