In April of 2023 I interviewed with the sweetest church and flew out to Puyallup Washington for a second round interview and to meet these awesome people! (First I had to learn to pronounce the name of this place-for all you newcomers like me it's pew-all-up)! In the whirlwind I never met Caleb but I did meet some of his family and he remembers seeing me briefly.
After my visit I went back to New Mexico and got the call that I got the job as Communications Director at Christ Community Baptist Church! May of 2023 I was back in Washington for job training and this trip was when we officially met. I went to Christ Community's youth group and at the end of the night Caleb came to pick up his younger sister Alivia.
We were introduced briefly and while I don't remember much I do remember that he would be leading my church small group and he was wearing a ring on his ring finger so I naturally thought that he was married.
Then at the end of June 2023 I made the long trip from New Mexico to Washington! After 4 days of driving I was met with an awesome team of people from the church who helped me move in. One of those people was Caleb Robinson. His family was also there except for Ellie (his sister) and several people asked where Ellie was. Of course having seen him wearing a wedding ring I assumed that Ellie was his wife for about the first two to three weeks that I lived in Washington. This was unfortunate for Caleb because he was already trying to get to know me but I was trying not to get too close to a married man. It wasn't until three weeks later when Ellie was finally back and I was introduced to his sister that I realized my mistake!
In September Caleb told me he was interested in me. However, I was new in town and wanted time to get to know him as friend. This wonderful man fully respected my wishes, shook my hand and waited patiently.
Over the next months it seemed like I ran into Caleb at every event the church had. He was teaching pre-k Sunday school, he was leading middle school youth boys, teaching the young adults small group, replacing lights, sitting in a dunk tank in freezing weather, decorating the building for Christmas-wherever there was a need he was there serving. As the Lord continued to provide opportunities to serve alongside him I got to know Caleb and I fell in love with this handsome hilarious crazy mountain man who serves the Lord and others with his whole heart!
In January of 2024 we went on our first date at Trappers Sushi and that began an amazing year of adventures together! The day after our first date we went snowshoeing together on the bridge that would one day become our proposal spot!
I could go on and on about all the Lord has done in our relationship and how absolutely blessed I feel to be marrying Caleb! There's been so many hikes, coffee dates, trips and opportunities to serve together that have grown us closer together and closer to the Lord. If you head over to the "Things To Do" section several of our recommended places and activities are based off our favorite memories together.
In November of 2024 we traveled to Florida to spend thanksgiving in Disney with my family! It was such a wonderful and memorable week made even better by the fact that Caleb asked my dad for his blessing in Hollywood Studios!
On December 21, 2024 we went to Mt Rainier to find some snow and get Christmas photos! As we stepped onto this beautiful bridge Caleb got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!
Now we're so excited to celebrate the beginning of this amazing adventure with all of you! Thank you for being a part of our story! Every moment of encouragement, every prayer lifted up we are so grateful for the part you have all played in our lives and can't wait to enjoy this season with you!
