Zach and I met through our mutual friends, Emily and Matt. I went over to their apartment, expecting to just hang out with my best friend. Turns out, Matt had one of his friends over as well, Zach. Unbeknownst to us at the time, but Emily and Matt turned out to be quite the matchmakers ;) We all hung out the rest of the night, playing games and catching up. Needless to say, Zach and I hit it off. We stayed up all night listening to music and talking. The next day was St. Patrick's Day. Zach asked me out and we went to a sport's bar called Flip's. We hung out on the patio and drank green beer (a St. Patty's Day tradition, of course). I remember being impressed by Zach and thinking how easy it was to be with him. He was kind, thoughtful, smart, handsome, and just a very genuine guy. Plus, he had brought his husky, Ice, to our patio date =big bonus points.

And the rest is history! We dated from then on, doing anything from going to concerts, to hiking new places together. Zach proposed at Turner Falls in OK. It was memorial day weekend and a quarantine-friendly activity since we were outside and able to socially distance. We met up with our friends, Kolby and Lindsey, and planned on spending the day together. We started our day off by hiking down to the bottom of the Falls. It wasn't terribly far, but we were still hot and sweaty by the time we got down there. Still, we had to get some pictures! It was too beautiful to pass up. Lindsey and Kolby graciously volunteered to take our picture (they were in on Zach's plan). As we stood up on the rocks to pose for our picture together, Zach turned to me and began to get down on one knee. It took me a second to realize what he was doing. Did he drop something? Is he tying his shoe? It finally hit me when he pulled out a little black box. By this point, everyone at Turner Falls saw what was happening and began yelling and clapping in excitement. It was the sweetest moment! And, I had no idea -I was totally surprised! Looking back, I should have realized something was up when Zach had combed his hair that morning when we were getting ready instead of putting on his usual baseball cap ;)

Anyway, I said yes to my best friend and the love of my life! We can't wait to get married and have you all there with us :) So put your party pants on and get ready to celebrate!!
