Andrew – One Saturday in January of 2019 I went to my second Yoga class at Yoga Haven. I took one of the two last spots in the room, closed my eyes and settled down. A few minutes later I heard rustling next to me and peeked. It was a very attractive woman in an orange top unfurling her mat next to me. I sheepishly said “good morning,” and then thought, “this is going to be really distracting…”

Dani – I remember immediately feeling drawn to the energy of the handsome man who sat in such a beautiful meditative seat next to me and surreptitiously looking to see if he wore a wedding ring. After class I told my mom about him, and to this day she reminds me of that.

Andrew – I saw her in the same Saturday class a few more times but we were never near enough to talk. I also figured she couldn’t possibly be single so resigned myself to admiring her from a distance. Then one day in April I spotted her heading into the park with her yoga mat slung over her shoulder. I picked up my pace to catch up with her.

Dani – I was daydreaming when I heard someone come up next to me and say, “I think we’re going to the same place.” We very naturally fell into conversation. I felt as if I’d known him for years.

Andrew – It wasn’t until a few weeks later that we bumped into each other between classes. I hadn’t seen her for a while and was pleased that she seemed happy to see me. Our timing was off, though, as her class had ended and mine was just starting. Another few weeks passed before we met again in class, and this time she suggested we walk back together afterwards – it turned out we were neighbors!

Dani – We once again fell into an easy conversation as we walked through the park. It was a gorgeous day at the end of May and we talked about wildlife, trees and dogs (three of my favorite things…)

Andrew – When it was time to part ways, I screwed up my courage and asked her out. She said yes, we made a plan, and I didn’t sleep much for the next week until our first official date.

Dani – I started to fall in love with him on that date when, while talking about our mutual desire to travel to Ireland, he said, “let’s go there on our second date!” My face lit up and I said, “I like you!”

Dani & Andrew – Our relationship grew from that day in a very natural, easy way. By mid-summer we were living together, and in November went on our ‘second-date’ to Ireland. And now we’re getting married!
