Our Wedding

We met in Seattle at a cozy restaurant, where two introverts sat across from each other making small talk and quietly wondering if the other was enjoying the conversation. Dani figured Drew was your typical Seattle software engineer nerd (which wasn’t entirely wrong), and Drew had absolutely no idea what to say to someone who teaches about the brain and mental health for a living. Despite the long pauses and occasional awkwardness, something about it felt easy—and real. We both left that dinner thinking, Huh, that actually went pretty well. After that, we went on a few more awkward-but-cute dates. Dani shared her love for the outdoors and her passion for her work as a researcher (yes, she was the nerd), while Drew shared his ongoing mission to find the best café lattes and doughnuts in town. And before we knew it, we were inseparable. We’ve gone on countless adventures together—hiking through the PNW, kayaking to remote islands in the North Cascades, camping deep in the Olympics, and paddleboarding on just about every body of water across Puget Sound. We’ve laughed through the joyful moments—and even harder through the mishaps (like running out of stove gas on a cold camping night, or ambitiously buying all the fishing gear only to catch absolutely zero crawfish). We’ve spent entire weekends side by side in quiet study sessions, encouraging each other through work, life, and everything in between. So here we are—many camping trips and cafe lattes later—somehow making it from awkward silences to wedding vows (with a few fishing fails and way too much doughnuts along the way). We can’t wait to celebrate our happily-ever-after(ish) with you.
