We first crossed paths in October 2019, both starting our entry-level sales jobs at a real estate tech startup. Danica was in college and a part-time schedule, while Matt was transitioning out of serving and starting his career in sales.We sat at neighboring desks, dialing 400–500 real estate agents a day, trading friendly conversations between calls, and surviving countless sales meetings together.At one point, Danica even offered that she had friends Matt might be interested in—mostly because she was in a relationship at the time and completely oblivious to the plot twist life was setting up.Then March 2020 arrived and spoiler alert: the entire department was laid off. Life pulled us in different directions.Fast forward to 2021, enter modern-day love letters: sliding Instagram DMs.We reconnected, picked up right where we left off, and somehow everything just felt easy.Our first “date” turned out to be Matt keeping Danica company to get her COVID shot. Everything was history.
