Daniel and Emma first crossed paths in August 2021 at a mutual friend’s birthday party. However, it was not a coincidental meeting. The cupids of Emma & Daniel’s love story, Rachel & Pierce Erickson, thought they would be a good match and plotted to get them into the same room. To tip the scales further in favor of love, Daniel was given a heads up about this girl who “thought he was cute.”

Brimming with confidence, justified or not, Daniel went into the party cool, calm, and collected. In fact, he played it so cool that he ended up barely speaking to her. On the way home, Daniel gave it a last ditch effort and resorted to modern methods. He requested to follow Emma on Instagram.

The crowd (Carson, Alec & Mark) went wild.

Two weeks of conversation in Instagram DMs turned into a first date that took them both by surprise. There was an instant connection. Their similar senses of humor and the natural flow of conversation gave both Emma and Daniel a feeling of familiarity that they hadn’t experienced before. While neither are believers in “love at first sight,” it only took one date to realize there was something special between them.

After many more dates, the two “made it official” in October. In the months that followed, they spent a lot of time together. They traded off cooking dinners, met each other's families and friends, and fell in love.

The following summer they both felt confident enough to move in together. While sharing a living space is normally a test for young couples that should be approached with a certain level of caution, these two decided to throw that to the wind. A week after getting their keys, they picked up a sweet golden retriever puppy, Blue, who brought equal parts love and chaos into their home. This stage of life had some ups and downs. The downs: mostly related to pee spots and bite marks. The ups: the indescribable joy of becoming a family.

Almost one year later, Daniel proposed to Emma on July 3rd, 2023. A date of significant sentimental meaning as it was his parent’s 30th wedding anniversary. That day Emma and Daniel retraced two major milestones of their relationship. They began at the art gallery where their first date took place, and ended at a park near their home. This park was the location where they first brought Blue, transforming their duo into a family, and where Emma and Daniel committed to forever.

On September 27th, 2025, after years supporting each other through this thing called life - and attending many weddings as guests - Daniel and Emma are so excited to become husband and wife. They can’t wait to celebrate their joy with you. Let’s go crazy!!
