Our Story

How they met

It all started with an app. After tirelessly swiping left, Adrianne ran across this devilishly handsome gentleman known as Daniel and swiped right. Daniel, having most likely had a picture of the best dog to ever live in 6 different states and probably the reason Adrianne swiped right, ran across this beautiful brunette in a red dress (that he still has yet to see in person) and ultimately swiped right. To his surprise, they actually matched. Dan opened the conversation with a light joke and an introduction. Adrianne skeptically replied as Dan continued to write what he thought were witty remarks, however, sarcasm does not translate very well in a dating app. After realizing that he was an IDIOT to assume this language would translate, he asked for her number so he could talk to her on the phone. Reluctantly, Adrianne agreed (haha big mistake).

After a bit of back and forth, they were set to meet for the first time at an eclectic little spot called Franky Bradley’s in Philadelphia. Dan arrived early so that he could get a good look at Adrianne as she walked in. After patiently waiting, in came Adrianne. She was as pretty as her online profile portrayed her and he was as handsome as she vaguely remembered. Looks are great and all, but what about attraction and intelligence. Unfortunately for Adrianne, Dan got the short end of the straw on both, however, Adrianne humored Dan while listening to his stories of his career in miniature intricate basket weaving - (inside joke). Why she didn’t run…I can’t tell you. He must have been rather comical (in his mind) as they continued their date to a nicer restaurant named Lolita's. It wasn’t until their second date that the wind revealed what would be Adrianne’s first of many nicknames from Dan. While failing miserably to get a kiss goodnight, the wind blew her hair ever so slightly revealing a pronounced freckle near her hair line. Dan went home remembering only the pronounced freckle (which to Dan, looked like a chocolate chip) from that night and in his back pocket he kept the nickname Choco reserved for Adrianne should their relationship continue. In Dan’s mind, Adrianne had only one more test. The most important test of all. The Dutch (my dog) test. If Dutch liked her, she was in. If Dutch did not like her, she was out. It took some time, but Dutch fell just as much in love wither Adrianne as Dan had. Inevitably, Adrianne was a keeper.

As the months passed, Adrianne and Dan continued their adventures together. Until finally it was time to meet the parents/family. Too much of the chagrin of Barbie (Adrianne’s mother), Adrianne would be meeting Dan’s family first on their annual vacation to Ocean City, MD. To Adrianne’s delight, she was welcomed with open arms and a Crabby Bloody Mary to ease the stress. Dan on the other hand was offered a much different scenario for his first meeting of Adrianne’s parents. Dan was invited to spend the weekend on the Doganieri’s boat SOMEWHERE in Maryland. Dan was skeptical of this offering as he has watched a few Datelines’ with Adrianne in the past. Is she capable of what she witnesses on these shows? One way to find out! Upon arrival, to Dan’s delight, he was welcomed with open arms and a margarita to ease his stress.

After just less than a year together, Adrianne and Dan were ready to make the next step and move in together. Little did Adrianne or Dan know that the first time they would live together would be over 750 miles away from Philadelphia to the deep south of Georgia. It was about a year and half in Georgia, on Groundhogs Day 2018, when Dan surprised Adrianne (aka Chigs - the newest evolution of Choco) by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. Their love for one another grew as did the emptiness for their families. Although they were happy in Georgia, there is nothing like having their loving and supporting families close by so in June of that same year, Adrianne and Dan returned to Philadelphia. Families rejoiced as both of their favorite children returned!!
