Daniel and Macy's story began in April 2017 at the "Country Thunder" music festival in Florence, Arizona. Daniel, a recent graduate of Louisiana State University who had just moved to Phoenix for work, found himself camping next to Macy and her friends. Macy was a junior at the University of Arizona at the time.

While they still playfully argue over who made the first move, one thing they both agree on is how inseparable they became during the festival. Just 48 hours later, after the final notes of country music faded, Daniel was on the road to Tucson to take Macy on their first date. Macy, living in her sorority house, had an entourage of curious housemates watching from the windows as she walked out to meet Daniel.

By late April 2017, they officially began dating, kicking off a relationship that has flourished over nearly eight years.

The early years weren’t without challenges. Daniel and Macy navigated a long-distance relationship, often meeting at airports and hopping flights to be together for weddings, family celebrations, music festivals, and other milestones. In fact, Daniel jokes that they single-handedly kept Southwest Airlines in business during those years! Despite the distance, they credit this time apart with strengthening their bond, teaching them to cherish every moment together and truly appreciate the value of quality time.

Eventually, life brought new opportunities and a new chapter. Daniel left the desert behind and moved to California, where he and Macy settled into their first home together in Orange.

Over the past two years, they’ve taken their love of travel to new heights, exploring the country and creating unforgettable memories. Macy introduced Daniel to one of her favorite places in the world—Hawaii—and it quickly became a shared favorite.

In September 2023, during a spontaneous trip back to Hawaii (thanks to a Southwest sale, of course), Daniel surprised Macy by getting down on one knee and asking her to spend forever with him. She said yes, and the rest is history!

Now, as they begin this exciting new chapter, Daniel and Macy are thrilled to celebrate their love with all of you. They can’t wait to make new memories with their favorite people. So pack your dancing shoes and get ready to join them on their happiest day yet—meet you at their wedding!
