Our Story
It all started in 2011 when Daniel slid into Cecily’s Facebook DM’s. They were both in high school living 40 miles away from each other. However, that never stopped them. Distance never got in the way. After weeks of talking, Daniel invited Cecily to his family reunion, which takes place in Long Beach (Cecily’s home town). Without hesitation, Cecily was going to be there. On June 26, 2011, she met Daniel along with his whole family! This was just the start of their journey. Through their high school years they did anything they could to see each other on the weekends and during the summers. Spent time going to school dances, prom, and each other’s graduations. In 2013, they started their journey as dog parents to their puppy Prince. He is the light of their lives. In their adult years, they spent time going to concerts, going out dancing, and having fun. Each year, their relationship grew deeper and memories were made as they grew up together.


On December 16, 2023 (the day before Cecily’s birthday), Daniel asked Cecily to get ready because he had a surprise for her. He took her to Belles Beach house in Venice for brunch and a walk on the beach. A plane flew by that day that said “Will you Marry Me” for another couple on the beach. Cecily laughed and brought it to his attention not knowing what the day had entailed for her. He brought her back to their home, where all of their loved ones were there to celebrate her birthday. As they sang happy birthday, Daniel had an announcement. He got on one knee and finally popped the question. Without hesitation the answer was YES!


Daniel and Cecily cannot wait to celebrate their big day with all of their loved ones. They look forward to all that’s to come as Mr. & Mrs. Marquez!
