The venue is mostly grass and a bit uneven, so you might want to rethink those stilettos! Choose your footwear accordingly :)
Ryley's side of the story:
Daniel and I met in high school. He was cool in an effortless way—tall, confident, funny, and quite the athlete with really nice arms. I was shy and fully convinced he was out of my league, which made being friends feel cheeky and exciting.
My first memory of Daniel is him picking up my friend and I in his Nissan Altima. He stopped for gas and offered to buy us a drink, which in high school felt wildly generous. That small gesture stuck with me. I remember thinking he was different—in a really wholesome, authentic way. Daniel is humble, honest, and incredibly kind.
After high school, we reconnected at the cabin, which—if you know, you know—has a reputation for turning friendships into something more. From there, the memories piled up quickly.
There were ski days, college parties, some questionable balcony climbing after notoriously locking ourselves out of the house. Bikes have crashed into the garage door and flown off the car because we forgot they were up there (yes, that happened more than once), wine nights, veggie sandwiches, karaoke, long road trips, rooftop beers, concerts in kayaks, van life, rock climbing adventures, triathlons, and plenty of stories that still make me laugh.
It’s been a lot of fun, a little chaotic, and full of moments I wouldn’t trade for anything. I can’t wait to marry that man!!!!
Daniel's side of the story:
The first thing that caught my eye were Ryley's gorgeous blue eyes. I remember the party that I first talked to her, and how sweet, fun, and just down to earth she was. Ryley has always been good at making it seem like she's the most innocent person in the world, but those that know her well know that she's really a wild little rebel. I've always been drawn to that, because it's not at all who I am. When we dated in high school, we just always had FUN! My biggest memory from those days is going to a beach in Malibu at night, finding random kayaks under a pier, and taking them out into the ocean. Ryley has always been a HUGE adventurer, and she brings that side out of me. Our first kiss was in high school in the cul-de-sac of my childhood house. I walked her out to her car when she was leaving and it was raining. If you need something to visualize... it was basically like that scene from The Notebook. I hate to say it, but I broke up with Ryley during my senior year of high school, and til this day Ryley reminds me of this. She returned the favor in 2018 when she moved to South America.
After she returned home, we reconnected when Ryley found out I was signed up for a triathlon. Those of you that know Ryley probably understand that she can't say no to an adventure or challenge. We began training for this event together, which sparked another 6 months of us dating. One of the special things about our relationship is that when we live in the same town, it's almost inevitable for us to be together. Shortly after the triathlon, I moved to Vietnam and we went our separate ways once again. If you didn't guess it, when I returned home in 2020, we connected once again and have been together since then. I feel beyond lucky to spend the rest of my life with Ryley. Even when we were apart, I think there was a part of me that knew I wouldn't spend the rest of my life with anyone else.
We're beyond grateful to share our love with so many friends and family, and wouldn't be where we are today without the love and support of so many people in our lives.
