Our story begins with Daniel feeling a call from the Lord to Unite Church. After months of ignoring it, he finally decided to go. It was there that he asked for confirmation if this was supposed to his home church, and it came within minuets. Unknown to both Daniel and Jorah, that Palm Sunday of 2023, God was putting them on a path that would intersect.

Throughout the remainder of the summer and well into the fall, Jorah had noticed Daniel (and thought he was very cute) from afar but had never been able to orchestrate a meeting. Finally, through some intricate social gymnastics, Daniel and Jorah met and started talking mid November 2023. Daniel asked her on a date while sledding after a friend's wedding.

Daniel describes this time as exciting and surreal, but he tried not to get his hopes up. It had been a long eleven year road of prayer and seeking the Lord looking for his future wife, with a lot of disappointment along the way. Unbeknownst to him, this was the beginning of something that would change him forever.

Their first date was at Barnes and Noble, where they sat, drank coffee, and talked for about three and half hours. Both of them felt an immediate connection, and left excited about what it may become. Fast forward over Holidays, drives to go stargazing, walks in snowy woods, and many deep conversations later, both Jorah and Daniel knew what they had found was something special.

Jorah talks about this time as so incredibly sweet and exciting. She knew that this was the person she would spend the rest of her life with. That knowledge has made her savor every moment, hoping to never forget so she can tell their children all about how she came to know their dad. She had prayed for years upon years for this person that now stood before her, and that answered prayer had her on cloud nine.

Daniel proposed to Jorah on Palm Sunday of 2024, one year after he started attending Unite Church. He took her up to a favorite lookout point of hers, peering over all of Cook Inlet. This spot, unknown to Daniel, was her favorite place to pray to God throughout all of high school and college. Many of those prayers were about her future husband. Jorah, with lots of tears and overwhelming joy, said yes to forever with him.

Both Daniel and Jorah are excited for what the Lord has in store for this next season of life, and have been enjoying being engaged and cannot wait to be married. We want to say thank you to all our family and friends that has loved and supported us throughout this whole journey, it means so much. A special thank you to Maggie Tanner, and Melody and Orlando Santiago, without whom we may never have met.
