Daniel and Aubrey first knew each other as elementary school classmates, though at the time neither would have guessed how important the other would one day become. Daniel remembers thinking Aubrey seemed a little “mean” in second grade—something he later realized was simply her sass—while Aubrey was certain Daniel was ridiculously annoying in fourth grade. For many years, they were simply two kids growing up in the same school halls.

When they moved to a smaller middle school together, they quickly became good friends, and by eighth grade their friendship had grown into the beginning of their relationship. Those early years laid the foundation for trust, patience, and committed friendship that would continue to define their relationship.

By the end of high school, Daniel and Aubrey had become a steady couple, confident in the relationship they had built over the years. As graduation approached, they faced the college decision: attending different colleges and beginning a season of long distance. Though the decision was difficult, they believed that pursuing the paths set before them was important, and they committed to making the distance work. Over the next three and a half years, their relationship was shaped by frequent phone calls, long drives, weekend visits, and constant encouragement as each worked toward their goals.

During this time, they also shared some of their most meaningful experiences serving together at a summer camp they both love, where their faith continued to grow and shape the way they approached their relationship. Through every year, they have watched one another mature, pursue their callings, and become the people they are today.

During Aubrey’s Maymester trip to Italy, what she believed was simply another day of travel quickly became an unforgettable moment. Daniel surprised Aubrey and proposed at the Piazzale Michelangelo May 24, 2025. Aubrey joyfully said yes!

After more than eight years of growing up side by side—through school years, long-distance seasons, shared faith, and countless everyday moments—Daniel and Aubrey are grateful for the beautiful way their story has unfolded. They are especially thankful for the constant support and encouragement they have received from their friends and family over the years. It means so much to share their wedding day with the people who have walked alongside them, and they look forward to growing in their marriage surrounded by that same love and support.
