Our Wedding

Our story began long before we even knew it. Both of us—Amy Schmalz and Daniel Thompson—were born in Vanderhoof, BC, where our parents were already close friends. Over the years, the Schmalz and Thompson families would reconnect from time to time, but life took us in different directions. That all changed on January 18, 2024, when a simple Instagram DM brought us back into each other’s lives. Countless FaceTime calls followed, and just a month later, on February 16, Daniel asked Amy to be his girlfriend. With Daniel studying at Briercrest Bible College in Saskatchewan and Amy living in Calgary, we navigated a few months of long distance, cherishing every moment we could spend together. Then, in May, Daniel moved to Calgary, and our love story truly blossomed. We made unforgettable memories together, and exactly one year after that first message—on January 18, 2025—Daniel got down on one knee. Amy said yes! Now, we can’t wait to celebrate our love, our new beginning, and this incredible journey with you.
