Ruth and Daniel met during a tour of NC State University in August, 2018. Daniel was already a student and Ruth was interested in attending college there, so she and a friend came to tour. Daniel and Ruth were both state FFA officers in their respective states, and so Ruth reached out to one of Daniel's state officer teammates to meet up for lunch. Daniel and Ruth found an immediate connection with each other. After they first met, they stayed in touch frequently through text and calls.

Eventually, Ruth decided to attend NC State, and she and Daniel were reunited again in person. Within a short amount of time, they became the closest of friends, hanging out almost every day. They shared life, laughs, and memories together. When the pandemic began, the NCSU campus was closed. Both Daniel and Ruth returned to their own states and weren't able to see each other for a year. When they both returned to Raleigh, they again started spending time together. Their time apart helped them realize how much they meant to each other, and the two of them fell quickly in love. They have since begun to build a life together based upon a love for Christ, for family, and for each other. They are excited to have everyone celebrate their big day with them!
