Daniel and Annie met in February 2022 when Annie was asked by her mom to come help prepare snacks at a church youth retreat where Daniel was working. Annie's mom made a comment early on that evening to "smile a bit, that boy is looking at you." The two chatted some over the hours, and as Annie was leaving, Daniel pulled her aside to ask for her number.

They first got to know each other over mini golf and bowling, then many trips to various parks for outside adventures. The two played many games of cribbage and did lots of running. Annie quickly grew to love Daniel's big heart and silliness. Daniel came to adore Annie's heart for others, her loyalty, and friendship.

Fast forward to August of 2024, the last weekend before school starts for Annie. They went to the zoo with some friends, where they spent the afternoon before Daniel proposed in the conservatory.

Now, three years after first meeting, the two are excited to step into this next chapter together!
