There are so many things that should have gotten in our way, but Daniel is truly the most patient man in the world, and I love him all the more for it. We met in June of 2023 through Facebook—though Daniel will tell you he actually messaged me months earlier on another platform. I took forever to reply during those first few days of messaging, and to top it all off, I got off work late and I was late to our first date!

We met at Starbucks (Daniel loves his coffee) and talked for hours. After coffee, we grabbed dinner, but I was so nervous I could barely eat. I even left my leftovers on the table and Daniel being the sweetheart he is, went back in to grab them for me.

From the start, we bonded over our mutual love of all things nerdy, and I couldn’t believe someone like him was into all the same fun things as I was. Then, we discovered he had actually graduated with my cousin—and I had unknowingly been at his high school graduation! I messaged my cousin to ask about this amazing guy I’d just met, and from there, everything just clicked. He asked me to the movies the next night and the rest is history.

A few months later, I met Daniel’s family, and it felt like I’d known them forever. Between jump park trips and Dollywood adventures, we ‘ve built memories that make our relationship feel timeless.

Fast forward to a year and a half later on Christmas afternoon—surrounded by toys, laughter, and excited kiddos—Daniel popped the question. I was so surprised and happy I cried hysterically and it took me forever to get the word yes out.
