Our Wedding

Daniele and I had many mutual friends through the years and our paths had crossed multiple times, but never at the right time. Once the timing lined up for both of us, we began spending more and more time together. It started as play dates for the kids, or at least that is how we framed it. The play dates turned into actual dates with no kids, but we didn't go on the normal kind of dates that a lot of people go on when they are getting to know each other. For us it wasn't dinner dates or meeting at the bar for drinks, we did fun adventurous things like hiking mountains, kayaking in the ocean, skating, jogging and working out. Getting to know Daniele was the most fun I have ever had, and we connected on so many levels. Things were just simple with her, and neither of us had ever known anything about simple when it came to relationships.A few months after we started getting serious, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. I had to leave California, for several reasons. I wanted to be home on the East Coast with my family and see my children grow up where I grew up, and I knew I could give them a better life in Pennsylvania than I could in California. We had the difficult conversation that needed to be had, she told me she was not interested in a long-distance relationship and if I decided to move that she supported it, but we would be cutting romantic ties. I told her that this was something I was sure about, and I had to go through with it. This woman while broken hearted, helped me pack every piece of clothing, furniture and personal belongings that I owned into a trailer to drive across country and start a new life. We spent every single moment together for the last few weeks that I was there, and she was there to kiss me goodbye and wave to me while I was pulling the truck away for the last time, while both of us were in tears. We still talked every day after I moved, and the more we talked, the more the distance re-ignited the strong bond that we had formed. Shortly after the move we began throwing around ideas about the future and discussing a whole bunch of "what ifs".Fast forward to Valentine's Day of 2021, she visited the kids and I on the East Coast for the first time and we had a great week together tied to a lot of emotions and another very difficult goodbye. I don't think either of us at this point were certain what the future would bring but we had at least decided to give the very challenging long-distance thing a try. We never went more than six weeks in between seeing each other, while living 3000 miles away. Then in November of 2021, she quit her job, sold almost all of her belongings and moved here with her son. This was the happiest time in my whole life. Our little family of five was finally complete and our new forever story had begun. Every day since then our bond seems to grow stronger, all of our values, morals and goals align. We have found in one another, something that most people only dream of finding. It is genuine, it is real, it is raw, and it is forever. I am so grateful the world brought us together and forced us to never give up on one another, no matter the circumstances.

Greg and I met about 20 years ago when he was a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness.  He began helping me with minor tweaks in my form and routine and shortly after that we started hanging out outside of the gym.  We both moved from the Midwest to Southern California and spent several years out there and ultimately we both ended up back in the towns we grew up in. Since about 2011 there has always been some sort of distance between us but we have always remained in touch and always made an effort to see each other.  I am proud to call this man my best friend and looking forward to sharing our special day with him.

“Little Ryan” and I met in Ventura, CA as he was a regular guest in my business.  Probably the youngest friend I have but an old soul, we have remained super close no matter where the world has taken us. He moved to Spokane, WA and lived with us for a couple years.  He was a great role model for my children and one of the best friends and humans I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know.  I got him a job with the company I was working for up there, he is still working there today and currently living with his girlfriend and seems to be really enjoying his life.  I am so excited to spend our wedding week with Ryan and can’t wait until he arrives because it’s been way too long since we have seen each other.

My brother is one of my best friends and a role model for me.  He has a great marriage, three beautiful daughters and a successful career.  He has been my rock through some of the hardest things I have ever been through.  He has challenged me to be a better man, father and human.  He is my youngest sibling and also was the only one still living at home in the early years of my life, apparently as a toddler I was one hell of a wingman.  

Steve and his wife Shannon were the main reason I got a chance to move to the West Coast to pursue my dreams as they opened up their basement to me and gave me a place to live and get settled and also got me lined up with my first job to get my roots planted in California.  We talk several times a week and I am super grateful for the relationship we have built in the last 10 years, he has loved me even at the lowest points of my life when I didn't even love myself.  Can't wait to see you and spend our wedding week with you big bro!

Steve Wilson

Mikayla and I met a little over a year ago when our boys were on the same tee ball team and started getting to know each other during practices and games.  After tee ball, the kids also ended up being on the same soccer team, where our friendship continued to grow.  Mikayla and her family have become some of the most important people in our lives and I am so grateful to have made such great friends since we moved to this little town.  Asking her to be a part of my wedding was such an easy decision and she has already made my experience of becoming a bride so much fun. I can’t wait to have her by my side on our special day and all the moments leading up to it.

I met Meagan through children’s sports as well. I overheard her talking about chickens and goats one day at baseball practice and I  instantly knew I needed to be her friend since we had chickens and goats too. Meagan and her family have become our closest friends and we enjoy getting  together for cookouts, camping trips and even quick trips to tractor supply to buy baby chicks (even when our husbands don’t agree with it)  Her and I are those moms you can hear cheering on our children from miles away. Asking Her to be a part of my wedding was an easy decision.  She has been such a great friend to me and even became my own personal home nurse for four months while I struggled with some serious health issues this past year.  So grateful to have you in our lives and so happy to have you up there with us on our wedding day.

Meagan Demers

Sara, where to even begin? Sara has been one of Ryan’s longest and closest friends for almost 15 years. Ever since I first met her a few years ago, she has now become one of my absolute favorite humans. She can turn any situation into a good time or total laugh fest. She is beautiful on the inside and out, has a heart of gold and would drop anything she was doing to be by your side when you need it.  She isn’t blood but all  three of my children only know her by Aunt Sara, and all love her endlessly. To know her is to love her. Having her as my maid of honor is so special to me because not only is she one of my best friends but also my (soon to be) husband’s best friend.   Can’t wait for all the wedding festivities and it means the world to both Ryan and I to share this day with you.

Shawna Dee has been my best friend since we were five years old. Shawna knew me better than I knew myself at times. Shawna was the type of person who lived her life to the fullest and no matter where we were, it was a great time. Every childhood memory I have, Shawna is in it. There was never a Shawna without Daniele or a Daniele without Shawna. Shawna’s life was taken too soon a little over three years ago and there’s no doubt that if she was still here, she would be standing right by my side. I will have a bridesmaid dress and a bouquet set aside in honor of Shawna. I love you and miss you every day.
