The East Market District of downtown, also referred to as Nulu (standing for New Louisville), has become known for its unique art galleries, specialty stores, antique shops and award-winning culinary scene.
This is one of our favorite areas to grab a drink and food! There are many options for all tastes and types, so if you have time, go walk around and check out the shops and explore.
Follow the alley behind the buildings off Market St to get to West Sixth Brewery. One of our favorite spots to sit out in the courtyard and grab a pint!

Looking for an awesome cup of coffee and one of the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever had?! Please and Thank you coffee shop is in the heart of NuLu and a great spot to grab some breakfast pastries and your favorite brew.
This swanky rooftop bar is great for grabbing a delicious cocktail and food. This bar is located on top of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. Follow directions to their designated elevator.
Delicious biscuits and gravy, or try one of their biscuit sandwiches! This is a great breakfast spot to fill the belly!
Shhhhh! You can find the secret entrance behind historic Whiskey Row. This speakeasy cocktail bar is an awesome spot to check out in town. Double-check reservations, or call ahead if needed.

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail will guide you through the rich history of the greatest bourbon distilleries in the world. We have a few of the Louisville local distilleries listed on this tab, but if you have the time, take a ride out of the city and experience the beautiful rolling hills of KY.
Don't forget, the Welcome Party will be held at Rabbit Hole Distillery so you will get to check one of these off the list!

The Highlands host numerous dining, bars, and shop options. It stretches from Baxter Ave all the way to Bardstown Rd. Find a dining option that suites your taste, or check out some of the tremendous coffee shops.
Some of our favorites include Gravely Brewery, Quills Coffee, LouVino, and Holy Grale.
The Highlands also includes Cave Hill Cemetery where "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali and Kentucky Famous Colonel Sanders are buried. Take a drive and pay respects to Louisville legends.
A short walk from The Brown Hotel is 4th Street Live! A fully enclosed block of bars and restaurants you would have plenty of options for all in your group.
Do you want to see the worlds largest bat?! Check out the famous Louisville Slugger factory and museum where they make some of the bats for the MLB pros. Don't forget to get your mini bat souvenir on the way out!
Check out the most iconic horse track in the world. The Churchill Downs Museum is attached to the track, offering incredible tours of this iconic location. Unfortunately, there will be no live races during our wedding weekend, but it is still a great spot to check out horse racing history!
Looking to get out and stretch the legs? The Big Four Walking Bridge is a unique, repurposed, pedestrian bridge that allows you to walk from KY to IN over the Ohio River. Enjoy the view of downtown, and take a pit stop on the Indiana side to check out some of the local restaurants/bars.
