Zachary and Danielle first crossed paths outside the Young Library at the University of Kentucky in 2018. On their first date, they discovered that despite not meeting until college, they had both grown up in Georgetown and attended St. John’s School, though at different times—Danielle from 2004 to 2011, and Zack from 2012 to 2014. They went to the same church and had even chosen the same saint for confirmation. Later, they attended the same high school but shared no classes.

They started dating in November of 2018 after bonding over their love of music and unknowingly shared experiences, and in May of 2023, they moved in together.

The following September, Zack brought Danielle back to the Young Library. He paused at the very spot where they first met, and after what seemed like a lifetime of near-misses, he asked Danielle to marry him.
