Joshua & Danielle met in January of 2018 at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta Georgia. Danielle was 15 and Joshua was 17. They met in NJROTC, Senior Chief Paulings class. Danielle didn’t have much of an interest in ROTC but she had an interest in Mr. Vet, the class leader… They became friends, best friends and talked all summer long until they fell in love. October 27th of 2018 Joshua asked Danielle to be his girlfriend officially!
AND THAT IS THE SHORT STORY!

Joshua always dreamed of being a Soldier.

Joshua graduated high school June 1st 2019. He left to join the United States Army June 2nd 2019.

They never had a conversation on whether they would stay together or not, they both wanted to, and they continued to be together throughout all of basic. Having written hundreds of letters to each other in 4 months, they became our most prized possessions and our only way of communication. Our relationship helped Joshua make it through training.

Hope and Prayer helped Danielle stay strong, as the family lost her Grandmother that September. Cell loved Joshua and always wished we would get married when Danielle was old enough.

October 10th 2019 Joshua graduated basic training from Fort Benning in Columbus Georgia. He was a Calvary Scout in the US Army, stationed in Vilseck Germany from October 2019 to August 2022. Joshua enjoyed his time in the Army, made many friends and memories and served honorably.

Danielle finished high school and continued to go to Georgia Southern University in Savannah Georgia.

In August 2022 Joshua left the Army and returned home for the FIRST TIME (thanks COVID)! Danielle and Joshua were reunited at Hartsfield International Airport after 1,047 days of being long distance with no visits, just countless hours on Facetime, endless prayers, and a real will to make it last no matter what !

•Joshua told Danielle he loved her for the first time on July 18th 2018!

•Joshua was Danielle’s first kiss!

•We officially started dating October 27th 2018 on the lawn of a Jake Owen concert!

•Our parents went to high school together at Shamrock, that one day became Druid Hills Middle School where Joshua and Danielle attended together and all grew up in Decatur Georgia!

•Danielle had a crush on Joshua the moment she saw him!

•Danielle was in her second semester of 9th grade and Joshua was in his second semester of his 11th grade year when they met in NJROTC!

•Joshua and Danielle would go on “dates” after school, at the park, Emory library, Emory Trail, ROTC practice, McDonald’s 😂

•Joshua proposed at 1am on the Fourth of July 2023!

•Our wedding date is our 6 year anniversary!
