We met on Hinge. Yes, a dating app. When I first came across Brandon's profile, I hesitated. I was worried he might be a player. My mom had actually convinced me to swipe right and give him a chance. I am so happy that I did. A few weeks of digital conversation turned into texts, then 5-hour-long conversations on the phone, and finally, a first date...

Brandon:

I had been passively watching Hinge for a while, not sure if anything would come of it. One morning I was checking the app during my morning routine when I saw Dani's comment on one of my prompts and not a picture (Hinge users will understand). When I first saw her profile, I knew then that it was time to take dating a bit more seriously...

We had planned to meet for coffee. What started as a simple midday meet-up turned into 10 hours of conversation, laughter, and food.

Dani's mom, who started her day unaware of her daughter's afternoon plans, wound up being her chauffeur to Black Hand Coffee Co., for her first date with Brandon.

Brandon arrived to the coffee shop two hours early to scope out the area.

As Dani approached, she looked up to see a young man in sunglasses and head-to-toe Adidas. However, once he smiled, she relaxed.

After coffee, they decided to go to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) and walk the halls. From VMFA, they enjoyed lunch at Fire & Hops Pizza Co., window shopping at West Elm in Carytown, drinks at The Jasper, and a movie to end the evening. Brandon was a perfect gentleman; no lie, Dani didn't even get a kiss.

After acquiring her parents' blessing and the engagement ring, Brandon quickly began to put his proposal plan into action. He wanted to propose at Brambly Park, a restaurant they frequented for trivia on date nights. A few email chains and conversations with the staff & manager of Brambly, and a trusted photographer, and everything was set. When they arrived that evening for trivia she was none the wiser. During the game, Dani was shocked when she heard the host say: "And our next question is for Danielle Brown". Brandon quickly gets on his knee and asks her "Danielle Brown, will you marry me?". The rest is history...
