Jake and Danielle met shortly after the New Year in 2021 at a brewery in Rochester (ironically the name of the brewery was Kinni Creek....River Falls is known for the Kinni River!). After getting to know each other over a few drinks and a walk through a local park still decorated from Christmas Danielle made the bold move of inviting Jake to stay a little longer and join her for a fish fry with her friends! Obviously Jake wasn't too scared off by her boldness. He did get the chance to return the favor the following weekend when he introduced her to his brother, sister in-law, and friends after a dinner date, where they happen to be enjoying the evening at as well. From then on they made the most out of the weekends and week nights as much as possible while enjoying different restaurants, breweries, and exploring as many different areas around northern WI and MN!

One of if not our favorite place to visit and explore is the North Shore in northern MN. We've made the trip up every late winter/spring since we began dating and we've never been disappointed with what it's had to offer. So when we planned our trip for March of 2023 I didn't think anything of it. We did our usual first night in Duluth and then began the trek north the following morning. First stop on the drive was Gooseberry Falls (also the first stop of our first trip to the North Shore!), and I should've been thrown off by Jake's questioning of my attire before leaving for our hike, but as usual I didn't really think he was one to critique "style". We began the walk down to the first water fall, still slightly frozen over and began to walk out onto the ice a little ways.....and that's when he did it, dropped on a knee right there at the spot of our first trip together and a place we will forever get to enjoy, for a much more significant reason now! And now we can not wait to celebrate with all of you!
