When one seventh grade girl met an eighth grade boy in elementary school neither one knew they had just found the person they would eventually end up with. What grew from there was a friendship that would last for years. Both went to Holy Trinity high school and were close friends. They had the same group of friends and he would often drive her home after school in his beat up yellow Volkswagen bug. When he left for college they didn't stay in touch. But they would still bump into each other at school events for their sisters who went to the same elementary school where they met.
After he graduated he moved back to Long Island for work and about a year after is when the two reconnected. They started texting again and hung out again towards the end of Summer 2013. They went to dinner and after that he invited her to hang out with his friends that same weekend. From there they became close friends again and hung out every weekend. To most of their friends it was obvious that they had feelings for each other but it took a little bit of time for them to realize it themselves. After a gentle nudge from one of her best friends (who yelled at him to man up and threatened to not speak to her again until they got together) the two finally admitted their feelings for each other shortly after her birthday. From that day neither of them looked back and have supported each other through good times and hard times always remaining best friends and partners in crime above everything else.
After almost three years of being together on Thursday July 28th, 2016 (the anniversary of her grandparents engagement) Bobby and Danielle got engaged. She knew it was coming since he told her he bought the ring and had already asked for her mother's blessing. He kept the when of it a secret constantly teasing that sometime in 2017 he'd pop the question. She thought it might happen around August 2nd which was her grandma's birthday but to throw her off, he talked about making plans with their friends that weekend. The day he proposed he told her he was having a really bad day at work and wanted to walk the beach that night. She agreed thinking no one proposes on a Thursday and not thinking anything of it. But that night after walking down by the water he got down on one knee and proposed and she said yes.
