Q & A

Where are the ceremony and reception talking place?

The ceremony and reception will be held at the beautiful War Memorial in Grosse Pointe, MI. The ceremony will be held outdoors on the back lawn (weather permitting), please note that the lawn is grass so select your shoes accordingly. There will be a cocktail hour following the ceremony in both the outdoor and indoor space. The reception will be indoors in a ballroom. Guests will have access to the back lawn and garden throughout the evening until 10:30 p.m. when the wedding concludes. Visit https://www.warmemorial.org/weddings to view photos of the venue.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, free parking is available in the front parking lot before you enter the venue. You may choose to leave your vehicle at the venue overnight and pick it up the next morning.

Will there be transportation accommodations?

Please plan to arrange for your own transportation to and from The War Memorial. You may leave your vehicle at the venue overnight if you need and can pick it up the next morning.

Will there be hotel accommodations?

We have a block of rooms available at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Detroit/Warren where you can select between a room with 2 queen beds or a room with 1 king bed. You can access the link to book your room at a discounted rate under our Travel & Stay section of the website.

Can I bring a date?

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Can we bring our children?

Invitations will be specific and will include the names of the children who are invited.

What should I wear?

We'd love to see our family and friends dress up with us! We are requesting semi-formal for our evening. No jeans, please!

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and find your seat.

Can I take pictures?

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This just means we are asking that all the phones and devices be put away and on silent during the ceremony. Why? Well, we've hired a professional to capture some of the most important moments of our lives, and we'd hate to have a well meaning person's phone blocking that moment for them to capture. After the ceremony feel free to take as many photos as you want! And we promise the share the ceremony photos as soon as we get them.

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony the bridal party and family will be taking pictures nearby. Guests will be directed to the area near the reception for cocktail hour where they will be serving hor'dourves and beverages and guests can enjoy entertainment.
