Their story began on a January day when with a swipe Danielle learned that she matched with Ethan on the Christian dating app Upward. He caught her interest by stating that he liked to be active, was clearly intelligent, and was interested in studying the Bible more. She captured his attention by her emphasis on God and studying the Bible and willingness to be adventurous. She decided to send a short message, which quickly sparked paragraphs of texting.
They decided to meet for their first date of Go Kart racing in North Georgia. Although the leaderboard declared Danielle had a faster lap, they both knew that Ethan was the faster driver. First date or not, there was no going easy on each other. They continued to go on frequent dates until on March 11, Ethan decided to ask Danielle officially out. And of course she said "yes!"
Overcoming the distance between them, they continued to have almost weekly dates, and eventually Ethan decided to invite her to meet his family in the most exciting way. Camping in a camper with his family and running a muddy trail race in the rain the following morning. Despite the need to run through a river that day, Danielle was glad that she was invited and welcomed by the Bruce family.
Danielle returned the favor a few months later when she invited Ethan to spend the week at the beach with her family, which turned into overwhelming Ethan with meeting more family members than he could remember.
They soon started reading the Bible together and discussing their studying during their weekly dates. They found that they shared a common first goal in life: to always serve God. They began to talk about their future, and the family that they both wanted.
When Ethan decided that it was time to start thinking about a ring, he tried to be very subtle about asking about her ring size and preference, perhaps a little too subtle for Danielle, because she clearly didn't realize he wanted to go ring shopping until he straight-up asked her.
Ethan tried to surprise her with his proposal on December 12, but when he saw Danielle arrive with heels and jewelry on, he knew that the secret was out. He knelt down in front of the beautiful Frost Chapel at Berry college and asked her to marry him. What else could Danielle say, but yes!
The bride and groom-to-be are over-joyed about their upcoming wedding, but know that the true blessing is in a marriage founded on God!
