To put it simply, we met in our high school math class.
One year, Ryan, being the romantic and thoughtful man he is, asked Danielle to be his Valentine. His sweet gesture included wearing a red shirt, a dozen roses, chocolates, a huge red teddy bear, and a note signed "RB". Danielle, being the awkward/uncomfortable teenager she was, literally ignored Ryan, pretending nothing had happened. She did take that teddy bear though, and managed to keep it all these years. It is one of the most special gifts Danielle has from Ryan.
Years later, after never having talked post-Valentine's Day fiasco, Danielle reached out to Ryan on a subsequent Valentine's Day (obviously) to apologize for how rude she was to him and to let him know that she wished she responded to him differently back then. In any other scenario Danielle's chances with Ryan would have been ruined at this point given how she treated him previously, but for some lucky reason Ryan responded.
We decided to meet up while we were both home from college during Spring Break. Our first date involved watching Just Friends on Danielle's couch and Ryan finally making a move. The entire week went by, every day spent together. Ultimately, we made things official despite Ryan being in Boulder, CO and Danielle in Berkeley, CA. We visited one another as frequently as possible, making the most amazing memories in those two cities. Our relationship grew and we quickly realized how "meant to be" we were.
Almost ten years and lots of life events later and we couldn't be more in love. We cannot wait to take this next step in our lives together and sharing it with all of you will make our wedding that much more special!
