There is a room block at this hotel for both Friday August 20th (the night before) and Saturday August 21st (the night of our wedding). You do not have to book both nights to receive the discounted rate. Please contact James or Danielle if the room block is fully booked and we will expand the reservation to accommodate you! Transportation between this hotel and the venue will be provided.

There is a room block at this hotel for Saturday night August 21st, the night of our wedding. Please contact James or Danielle if you’d like to stay at this hotel Friday August 20th as well, or if the room block is full. In either case we will extend the room block to accommodate you! Transportation between this hotel and the venue will be provided.

Lyman Orchards is a gorgeous farm with tons to do! There are two 18-hole golf courses and a 9-hole par 3 course, as well as a driving range.

Lyman Orchards provide plenty of pick-your-own-fruit options such as strawberries and apples. And in August during the time of our wedding, there is a beautiful sunflower maze!

This castle is only 40 minutes from Lyman Orchards. William Gillette was an actor famous for his on-stage performance of Sherlock Holmes. Gillette designed his fairy-tale-style house in 1919. The 24-room, 14,000-square-foot home has numerous oddities designed by Gillette himself: hidden passages, a secret room, 47 uniquely styled doors with Steampunk-like latches, and an elaborate 3-mile-long narrow gauge railroad on the grounds outside. The home is perched on a cliff with a sweeping view of the Connecticut River some 100 feet below. The list of visitors who reportedly have visited the estate include Albert Einstein, Helen Hayes, and Charlie Chaplin. After Gillette’s death, the property was acquired by the State of Connecticut in 1943, renamed Gillette Castle, and turned into a state park, which receives around 350,000 visitors each year.

Just 20 minutes from Lyman Orchards, this adventure park in Portland, CT has ziplines, swimming and water obstacles, kayaking, rope swing, cliff jump, wakeboarding, rock climbing and paddle boarding!

Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park

Just 30 minutes from Lyman Orchards, the Valley Railroad Company – operating the Essex Steam Train &amp; Riverboat – has been serving the lower Connecticut River Valley since 1971. Their mission is to keep alive the rich mechanical, industrial, and transportation heritage of Connecticut through the continual operation of a vintage steam and diesel locomotive and passenger coaches, as well as the operation &amp; maintenance of the facilities and infrastructure that support these. Visitors can ride the railroad, relax aboard the riverboat and visit their unique facilities.

Essex Steam Train & Riverboat

An hour from Lyman Orchards, Mystic Aquarium is a marine aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. It is one of only two U.S. facilities holding Steller sea lions, and it has the only beluga whales in New England. Special exhibits include a ray and shark touch pool, an African penguin exhibit, a jelly gallery, and the "Jurassic Giants" dinosaur exhibit.

Gouveia Vineyard and Paradise Hills Vineyard and Winery are both just 13 minutes from Lyman Orchards. Other gorgeous vineyards and wineries across CT are just a short drive.

Connecticut Wine Trail

An hour east from Lyman Orchards, Mohegan Sun Casino, created in 1996 by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut, is home to some of New England's finest dining, hotels, shopping, live entertainment and sporting events. There are also two luxurious spas.

An hour and 15 minutes from Lyman Orchards, Foxwoods Resort Casino has been a premier resort destination in the Northeast since 1992. As the largest resort casino in North America, Foxwoods offers a vast array of gaming in seven casinos. There are also hotels, restaurants, spas, golf, theaters, and retailers. Foxwoods Resort Casino is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
