Our Story

How we met from Kory's perspective:

One day, I get a random call from my mother. She says "Kory, I did something bad." Having no idea what my mom could have possibly done, I said "Oh no, what did you do?" She said "Well I met a new friend, and asked her if she knew any cute single girls. My friend said yes, that she knew two, so I gave her your phone number to give to them." Turns out, those girls were Danielle and her sister Megan. A few days later, I get a text from my mom with Danielle's first name only and a phone number. She told me that Danielle was expecting me to reach out and it was on me. Not knowing anything else, I took 30 minutes stressing over every detail of the first text. After hitting send, I waited and waited until my future bride would text me back. When she did, I found how easy she was to talk to and how amazing she is. We have been together ever since!

How we met from Danielle's perspective:

One day in December of 2021, I was visiting my parents and my mom conveniently had some photos, a job description, and a small biography of a boy who was slightly older than me. She told me that she had told her mutual friend, Diane Locklear, to keep an eye out for any ladies who had a cute, single son that she could set her daughter up with. Kory got the stamp of approval and I was told to expect a text from him sometime soon. After receiving a perfectly worded text message from Kory on my way out of work, the talking stage began. Kory quickly asked me out on a first date for breakfast and bowling. That first date soon lead to many more dates and lots of time spent together.

Fast forward to May of 2023 and our preplanned trip to Mexico. Kory had gifted me that trip for Christmas as I had recently changed jobs and needed some time to sit back and relax. I spent half of that flight talking about how most of my friends thought we would be getting engaged on this trip and how I could not believe how ridiculous they were being as this trip was planned well before we even looked at rings. One dinner later and a few poorly timed snapchats to my friends stating "Day 0 and no ring yet", I was turning around in our hotel room to Kory down on one knee. Shock and surprise does not even begin to describe the feelings I was experiencing in that moment as my initial response was "Are you serious?", quickly followed by "Yes." Now we are planning our dream wedding together and I cannot be more excited to spend my life with someone who my mom set me up with.
