Brian and Danielle reconnected in the summer of 2021, making a bet on the Iowa/Iowa State football game that upcoming September. Once we started talking again and catching up, we pretty much were inseparable. With our busy lives (Danielle just busy, Brian having the boys, Boston (12) and Pierce (8)), we would schedule to meet at Rails in Sanborn for dinner, if we weren't able to spend time together on the weekend.

After traveling together to watch Brian's basketball team in Minneapolis and painting his bathroom, we still liked each other and got along, so we thought we'd keep hanging out. Danielle spent tons of time with Brian and the boys during the summer while she was off school.

On September 24, 2022, after Danielle and Pierce had been at her parents' house watching an Iowa football game. Brian and Boston had been working hard making plans. When Danielle and Pierce got home, Boston and Brian had set up pumpkins and Brian hid around the corner on his knee, asking Danielle to join their family. She obviously said "yes!"
