What is the history and significance of the Tate House?
The Tate House is nestled in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. Here is a link to learn more about the history of the venue: https://www.tatehouse.com/history/
Where is the venue located?
We are getting married at the Tate House, located at 61 Georgia Marble Rd, Tate, GA 30177. It is roughly a 1 hour drive north of the Atlanta airport, and 30 minutes north of Canton, GA.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, the Tate House has a large surface parking lot for parking. When arriving at the Tate House, turn right into the second driveway, which will take you right through the gate and to the parking lot. There are signs to show you where to turn into the venue.
Will there be transportation provided to and from the venue?
No, each guest will be responsible for their own transportation. We do recommend carpooling with family members, friends, etc. The venue is located in a more remote area, so it may be difficult to catch a ride with Uber or Lyft.
What is the dress code for the wedding venue?
The Tate House is an elegant and historical venue. The dress code is black tie optional.
Are the ceremony and reception sites both on the property?
Yes, the ceremony will take place in the Pavilion. Cocktail hour will take place in the Tate House mansion and courtyard area. The reception will take place in the Ball Room, which is roughly 10-15 yards from the Pavilion. The venue is ADA compliant as well and easy to get around.
Is the venue diet-friendly?
Yes, the venue offers a wide variety of gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian food items and they are all delicious. Food is prepped and made in house at the venue. Food will have signage denoting any dietary specifics. If you have a significant food allergy, please alert the Bride and/or Groom when you send back your RSVP.
Are children allowed at the venue?
Yes, as long as they are over the age of 8 years old. However, if they are under the age of 8, their parents are required to sign a waiver, which is provided by The Tate House. This waiver is to be signed and returned prior to the day of the wedding. The venue is not necessarily deemed as "kid-friendly" due to the historical nature of the property. The waivers essentially require for children to be in the presence of their parent/guardian at all times secondary to the potential for damages to the property and safety of children. Children are also not allowed on the dance floor. Please reach out to the Bride and Groom regarding this waiver.
Where should I fly in?
We recommend flying directly into the Atlanta airport. Please be advised that Atlanta traffic can greatly impact your travel, so make sure you have a good playlist for the drive to the hotel!
