Danielle and Zac's story began in the Fall of 2014 in Winona, Minnesota during their first semester in college. They both sat next to each other in an English class as total strangers. Zac asked Danielle to proof read one of his papers and not thinking anything of it that day would be the start of much more. Their friendship grew enormously over the months and years. From brief waves while passing each other in the campus halls, climbing the bluffs in the summer, to playing ice hockey in the winter, Danielle and Zac became close friends. Coincidently, Danielle and Zac lived less than an hour apart and would car pool together when they had school breaks. They would go to dinner and have day-dates together while on break.
Zac graduated college a year before Danielle but they still stayed connected. Once she graduated, Zac invited her to the Naperville Riverwalk one evening and told her he had more feelings towards her than just being close friends.
After finally becoming official and turning from friends into lovers, Danielle and Zac's real adventure began. They began traveling together and have repeatedly enjoyed visiting their favorite beach towns. New Buffalo and Saint Joseph quickly became very special places to them and they waisted countless summers together boating and enjoying the sunsets on the beach. They also have enjoyed hiking the rocky mountains in Colorado, finding the best lobster rolls in Boston, mopeding around Key West and exploring the beaches of San Diego.
This year marks the couple's fifth anniversary together and they have accomplished so much together. They took their relationship to the next level in 2021 when they moved into their first apartment together. Soon after, with lots of convincing on Zac's part, they adopted Chai, their first pet. Later that year, they began to design and build their first home together.
Their newest chapter began on December 12, 2022 when Zac knelt down on one knee during sunset on their first cruise together and asked Danielle to marry him.
