Dani and Matt met at the University of Kansas on the 10th floor of Ellsworth the first day of their freshmen year. After a year of becoming good friends, bonding over KU basketball and even football games, a late night snowball fight with Taylor, and an OAR concert; they started dating the beginning of their sophomore year. And the rest as they say, is history! To some they have always known Dani and Matt as a couple and over the next 12 years (yes 12!) they've been fortunate to have had many amazing experiences with friends and family. There are too many occasions to try and count but the one thing that's always remained constant is the love they shared. While at KU, Matt and Dani got to cheer on KU to the NCAA final, storm the KU football field when they finally won a game, watch movie marathons in the dorms, experience crazy board games, and parties with friends! They even managed to graduate from KU together!

After KU, Dani and Matt transitioned to a long distance relationship as Matt moved to KC and Dani stayed in Lawrence, each pursuing their own careers. Matt started his software engineering endeavor and Dani became a personal trainer. Frequent texts and Snaps helped them share moments together digitally while their relationship grew and proved resilient despite not always being in the same city.

Fast forward a couple years after a few friend's weddings, many drives back and forth to Lawrence, and great adventures in between, Dani moved to Colorado to pursue graduate school in teaching. Knowing this was meant to be, Matt moved out to Colorado too! Then the world came to an end, literally, with the lockdown of Covid. During that time, Matt and Dani grew even closer and planned their life together with their dog Bentley! Then in 2022, only after a few years of dating, Matt proposed to Dani at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, her favorite place. Now they are very much looking forward to celebrating the next chapter in their life with friends and family on June 22nd, 2024!
