I am going to preface this page with - it will be May in Denver. It might be sunny and warm. It might be snowing. Please plan and pack accordingly :)
Here is a Google Maps link to our favorite haunts and jaunts in Denver
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is an open-air theater that's built into a rock structure and offers an inviting atmosphere, a surrounding parkland with relaxing walkways, and unforgettable live performances. The venue can seat up to 9,525 people, and the natural acoustics from the disc-shaped rock create sounds that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Massive curved rocks are on both sides of the theater, creating natural walls that direct the sound.
Denver Botanic Gardens truly are a sight for sore eyes. With 50 gardens, it’s easy to lose track of time while meandering through the vast greenery. There are a variety of environments, from a Japanese garden to a South African one. You can also enjoy art sculptures dispersed throughout the gardens. It’s said the gardens are enjoyable in any season, so be sure to keep this on your list year-round. Before visiting the gardens, check out if any festivals or events are on as this is another way to really enjoy the grounds.
There are so many hikes in the surrounding area - I recommend downloading the AllTrails app and choosing a hike that suits your desired length and activity level
