AUGUST 2022
After living my entire life in a busy florida coastal city, I decided I wanted a more layed back lifestyle.
I packed up everything I had, bought a truck and camper, loaded up the pups and headed to Brandon, Mississippi.
With the hopes of working and saving and eventually buying land to start My own homestead.
I joked with my friends before leaving, saying I was gonna find a country boy, with blue eyes and a belly!! LOL
Shortly after the relocation, I joined a dating site, with hopes of just finding someone to show me around my new home.
The last thing I thought I’d find was a great guy who I planned on spending the rest of my life with!
But shortly after joining I matched with Brad!
Ya’ll I wasn’t even set on dating, with the move and so much going on, I just wasn’t sure.
Me and Brad talked daily, until he blew me off!!!
Or so i thought, after making plans and him having to cancel the first two times, i thought “this man is wasting my time”.
After the 2nd time, i got a phone call and i heard Brads voice for the first time.
I was dead set on ending everything, then i heard Brads voice!
In all honesty, it was his accent, that country boys accent got me! LOL
So we planned to meet,
I went to his house where we took my truck out in the field and talked all night.
I shared my goals in moving here, and he shared the same goals.
We had our first official date at D’lo water park where we camped and ya’ll this man spoiled me!
Showed off his cooking skills, took me freshwater fishing for the first time in my life (this beach bum was raised on the gulf).
It wasn’t long before the weather got cold.
I was worried about leaving the heat on in the camper with jersey there all day.
Brad suggested we stay with him, I wasn’t sure since we haven’t been together long, but there were no red flags.
So i packed my stuff and moved the camper to Brads.
I met his family and i can honestly say I’ve never felt so welcomed and a part of the family instantly!
It truly feels like I’ve been here forever.
We traveled and eventually made it to Florida for Brad to meet my family!
They instantly fell in love with him, and his accent! LOL
Again it was as if he’d been apart of the family forever.
We started growing our homestead with the addition of chickens, then Hank (our livestock guardian dog), we added goats, and Annie (hanks future baby momma) more chickens, pigs (that currently reside in our freezer) more goats, more chickens and ducks!
Brad taught me how to do all the things I’d need to know living in the country and on a farm.
We raised chickens together from egg to freezer!
He taught me how to process our first chickens.
He taught me how to drive a tractor and excavator.
Life was good!!!
We celebrated Christmas 2023 and Brad had a gift for me, but it was going to be late.
I waited patiently and on January 25th, the gift had arrived.
He was so excited!
He called me into the room where he was down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!
Of course i said yes!
Brad had been the most patient teacher, understanding partner, and loving person I’d ever met.
So here we are over 2 years later planning our wedding and inviting our family to celebrate our love with us!
