Our Wedding

It all started with a missing earring.    Marc and Danielle first met on September 22nd 2018 at a wine tasting room in Carlsbad, CA.    But it wasn't until his Uncle’s wedding roughly 3 years later that they would meet again.

The History

Back in the ‘90s when everyone was watching ER and listening to Third Eye Blind, Denise (Mother of the Bride) and her friend Lynne were boppin' their heads to tunes while working together.&nbsp; Some 25 years later, Lynne re-located to San Diego, met Steve, (Marc's Uncle) and the two fell in love.&nbsp; In September of 2018, Denise had a conference, and wanted to meet-up with her longtime friend while visiting California. Since Danielle had moved to LA, she drove them down to visit her friends.&nbsp; Banking on some free booze, Steve &amp; Lynne just so happened to know a server who would probably cut them a good deal at a nearby tasting room. Marc walked up to the table: confident, with a smile, and genuine. It was quick in that moment Marc and Danielle locked eyes. Upon returning to their hotel room, Danielle began to unwind for bed. She removed one earring from her ear, proceeded to take out the other, all to discover it was missing. Panicked, she called Steve for help. The most he could do was give her Marc's cell number -- maybe it was left at the tasting room. Marc searched high and low; behind barrels, and in-between steel bars for this damn earring. All for Danielle to text him back 90 minutes later that the earring…was on the hotel carpet… the entire time. She had gone the whole day with only one earring. Marc had felt a strong connection with Danielle, and was hoping she would miss more earrings to be called on. Even if searching for no reason.

Later

Lynne and Steve had planned an intimate wedding with a limited guest count, and decided on inviting Denise &amp; her husband Aaron. But, Denise's Father (Dennis) was in declining health. And Aaron didn't feel comfortable leaving him at home alone. Steve and Lynne had agreed for Danielle to take his place as Denise's +1. After the ceremony, Denise &amp; Danielle boogied on the dance floor. On the other side of the venue, Robert (Marc's cousin) spotted Danielle in a yellow dress. Robert: Hey, you see that girl over there? You should go talk to her.Marc: I think I may know that girl. So he took to the dance floor. Denise: Hey! Are you that one guy? --Marc: Yes, yes I think we have met before at --Denise: Yes! At the wine bar! I knew I recognized you! She gestures with her thumb at Danielle. Denise: This is my daughter.Marc: HiDanielle: Hi She smiled and made her way over to the help yourself to whatever wine you want bar while Marc trailed along. They got to talking and had a nice time getting re-acquainted. Denise &amp; Danielle's AirBnB was just a mile down the road, and they had asked if they could hitch a ride from Marc &amp; his cousin Alexandre. After dropping them off, Marc drove away with only one thing on his mind. He turned to Alexandre and said: I'm going to Marry that Girl.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE? 

The dress code is Formal. We kindly request that you dress your best for outdoor weather in the summer.   No jeans, t-shirts, baseball caps, trucker hats, shorts, flip flops or casual attire.   Please note: olive green are the bridesmaids' colors -- and of course avoid white / shades of white. ;)

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive by 4:30 pm. The ceremony will promptly start at 5 pm. Late arrivals will not be permitted onto the North Lawn once the ceremony has started.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?

As much as we love your kids, we are choosing to have a child-free wedding (with the exception of our two flower girls). We understand that this might be inconvenient for some of you, but we hope you can still join us (and enjoy the adult party!).

DO I HAVE A PLUS ONE?

Your invite will state the names of all invitees. Additionally when you RSVP here on The Knot, it will indicate exactly how many seats we have reserved in your honor.

PARKING?

There is a free and open parking lot at the venue.

TRANSPORTATION? 

We encourage all to drink and drive responsibly. In the event you are taking an Uber / Lyft back to your lodging after the wedding, it is recommended you schedule your taxi roughly 1 hour before your departure time. Wait times are often high, as not many taxis are close to this venue late at night. Kindly factor this in when making your travel plans. Should you need to leave your car overnight, you are welcome to do so and pick up your car in the morning. Leaving your car overnight is free of charge.

INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The ceremony and reception will be outside. Within the grounds there are large redwood trees and arbors to find shade in. Please plan accordingly for the heat, while maintaining our formal dress code. There will be fans and parasols provided for your convenience!

VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN OPTIONS?

There will be alternative proteins when you RSVP. If you are a couple with one meat preference, and one veggie / vegan preference, select option 2.

BYOB?

Bringing any of your own alcohol onsite to our venue is strictly prohibited. We ask that you enjoy the beverages provided by us. Thank you!&nbsp;

CAN I SMOKE?

All smoking must be done in the designated smoking sections. Please place ash and butts in the provided trays and refrain from leaving them on the ground.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

The venue cannot accommodate for any other animals other than Piper. We politely request you leave all fur-babies at home.

Wedding Party

For those of you that will be flying in, we recommend flying into the Sonoma County Airport (STS). There are direct flights on Alaska Airlines via Burbank, LAX, Orange County, San Diego, Portland & Seattle. As well as through American Airlines via DFW, Phoenix, Las Vegas or Palm Springs . Then you can either Uber/taxi the 15 minutes to Healdsburg or rent a car. You could also opt to fly into OAK, SFO, or SAC; however, keep in mind the drive from the airport will be much longer (about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic).   Our venue is in Geyserville, but we highly recommend staying in Healdsburg or Windsor as there are a wide range of hotel options and a lot of great restaurants/things to do.  Please keep in mind Ubers and taxis are not as readily available like they are in large metropolitan type cities. If you are flying in, we encourage booking a rental car.
