The first Thanksgiving Danielle and Ryan spent together was in Anchorage in 2012. Ryan forgot to pack clothes warm enough for watching the northern lights and had to borrow Danielle's father's oversized coat and very cool hat.

Shortly after our ten-year (or two-and-a-half!) anniversary, Ryan finally planned a proposal at sunset on the top of Flattop Mountain. The weather and the pandemic, however, were not informed of his plans, and heavy snowfall and an untimely covid infection cause a quick change of plans, and we were engaged on a lovely little snow-covered bridge in South Anchorage.
