Danielle and Chris met on Bumble, an online dating site. Chris had just moved back to Michigan from Seattle after finishing 21 years in the Air Force. After being on Bumble for only a couple days, Chris matched with Danielle. They started talking on March 10th, 2023. Danielle had a snow day from teaching and Chris had moving trucks moving his stuff into his new home in Livonia.

Fun fact: Chris’ first message to Danielle was “Happy Mario day” because the date was March 10th aka Mar 10.

Danielle and Chris’ first date was on March 17th 2023; St . Patrick’s Day. They went to sushi first followed by axe throwing and fowling at The Tailgate Garage in Canton.

Chris officially asked Danielle to be his girlfriend on August 11th 2023 while on a sushi date.

Chris was the first to say I love you. Chris and Danielle did a 5k at Detroit zoo and after they crossed the finish line Chris looked at Danielle and told her how much she meant to him and said “I love you” for the first time.

Danielle and Chris were up-north at Higgins lake with her family for the Fourth of July when Chris asked Danielle to marry him on July 6th. They were taking family pictures on the dock when he asked the question. Higgins Lake is her favorite place and all of her sisters and their families were up north so it meant a lot to Danielle to have the engagement happen there and at that time.
