Jonathan and I were set up and met at a friend’s wedding in May 2023! After a few confusing interactions, we exchanged numbers and Jonathan asked me out a few days later.
Our first date was on June 23, 2023. For four hours, we spent our time between unsuccessful fishing, exposing our favorite color, and sharing our five-year plan at Waffle House. Both of us had fun, but had no idea if the other was interested.
After some convincing from Jonathan, we started dating on July 22, 2023.
Two months into dating, Jonathan told me he wanted to marry me; I basically said, "Good luck."
We dated long-distance for 6 months before Jonathan moved to KC, while Jonathan finished up at Mizzou and I was busy starting physical therapy school.
Throughout dating, we kept ourselves busy with trips to my parents' farm, trying new coffee shops in KC, playing pickleball, going on walks in Shawnee Misson Park, and becoming better friends.
We got engaged on October 26, 2024. I had some strong suspicions it was happening, but Jonathan never let on until he picked me up that day. He said some sweet things, and then finally asked me to marry him at Shawnee Mission Park.
I'm still in physical therapy school and Jonathan is still a raging Mizzou fan. But, we finally understand each other's sense of humor, and Jonathan decided he can put up with my chronically messy car.
Our relationship has been so evident of the Lord's grace and kindness to us. We've gotten a taste of the blessing of the Lord's sanctification through our relationship, and are so excited and humbled to be called into this union with one another!
